Ashby Parva Plant
Centre: From Strength to Strength
The last five years
has seen Ashby Parva Plant Centre transformed from a
small horticultural growing nursery, to a retail
centre of excellence.
Michelle Clarke -
the driving force behind this venture - took over
the retail part of the Nursery from her parents, and
developed a fully stock garden centre. Three years
ago she opened a Tearoom & Farm shop.
This summer, the
Tearoom has undergone a refurbishment and according
to Michelle, now boasts: "New furniture, new heating
which is a log burning stove and a new menu, all of
which goes toward a warm welcome and homely feel."
The farm shop has
gone from strength to strength offering an ever
increasing range of local and British produce.
"As a local grower
of plants we understand the importance of having a
retail outlet that our products can be sold through.
We specialise in stocking food from the small
producers that you would not find in the supermarket
or larger stores," comments Michelle, "as well as
the usual range of food you expect to find at a farm
shop."
The Plant centre
has enjoyed a very successful spring and summer,
with sales up against last year. As autumn
approaches the gardeners thoughts turn towards
planting spring flowering bulbs, hardy trees and
shrubs and winter flowering bedding to give some
colour in the garden during the winter months.
One of the most
popular services we offer is our FREE 'Garden
Planting Plan'. We visit your garden and provide you
with a plan and list of plants suitable for your
garden, which we can supply and either plant for you
or you do it yourself.
